About the Author
Leslie Knope has lived in Pawnee since her childhood. The community programs she enjoyed in her youth inspired her to pursue a life of public service and serve the city. Leslie is a member of several action committees in her role at city hall, including the Equal Opportunity Committee, the Fun in the Sun Committee, the Clean Restroom Task Force, the Handicapped Restroom Task Force and the Task Force to Reduce the Number of Public Restrooms.Her goal is to become the first female President of the United States. Leslie is the Deputy Parks Director of Pawnee's parks and recreation department, a mid-level bureaucrat position. She hopes to advance her career (possibly aiming to jump over the department's Director position and become a City Manager) and improve her town. Leslie also has a love for sweets, especially whipped cream, as she usually adds excessively large amounts to coffee, waffles and other food.

Leslie Knope is my all-time favorite author! I can only pray she writes a second book! I found the history of Pawnee, IN just breathtaking! It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It is in Joan Calamezo's book club, so that should tell you something...
I bought this book last-minute for my Leslie Knope cosplay for Comic Con, and expected it to be more of a prop than an actual book. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it to discover that it's a full length book w/ little blurbs written in character by Leslie and other characters from the show! My favorite was Jean Ralphio's reviews of the bars in Pawnee, and his various ratings of Simantha. This reminded me a lot of companion books typically written for sci fi/fantasy book series, shows and movies. A little corny, super cute, a fun read!
This is a hilarious book that is nostalgic for the most hardcore of Parks and Recreation fans. Filled with quips from the beloved main cast as well as the wacky residents of Pawnee, this book "LITERALLY" exemplifies the greatest town in America.
I absolutely love Parks and Rec and decided to buy this after watching the show. It is a hysterical continuation of all of your favorite Pawnee characters and all the humor they have to offer. I would highly recommend this for anyone who has watched the show, and I am even using it to compliment my Leslie Knope Halloween costume this year. You could almost compare it to the Earth or America books written by the daily show in terms of content. Definitely worth the buy.
This is hilarious, and just as if Leslie Knope lovingly wrote this about her town. It makes me wish that Pawnee was a real town just so I can visit!

This book is exaxtly how I thought it would be - hysterical. I love Parks and Rec so much. The show speaks to my soul and I love having this book to ease the pain of no new episodes.
Really disappointed that I paid $18 for a book and it clearly looks used or really mishandled because it has a couple damages. If only I didn't need it right away I would return it but I am very dissatisfied with this purchase.
